What’s a newly-formed SSA to do in the midst of a pandemic and lockdown when they want to create a sense of place and belonging for the community—all while supporting local business? You start with the basics and activate the public realm. Through Joy on Central, we introduced some good ol’ fashioned joy through an interactive and colorful design installation along a one-mile stretch of this commercial corridor in Evanston. Those stripes? Still there, in new brand colors, beloved by the community.
